Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) in Wilmington, North Carolina seeks an experienced Survey Project Coordinator / Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveys and coordinate office tasks while growing toward Professional Land Surveyor licensure.

The role blends fieldwork with office duties such as data processing, deed and boundary research, calculations, drafting, and client coordination, offering mentorship and potential leadership progression.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive surveying experience (field emphasis).
• Experience as Survey Crew Chief, Party Chief, or similar role.
• Strong field and office surveying experience.
• Experience with ALTA/NSPS, boundary, topographic, construction, right-of-way, and land development surveys.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform a variety of field surveys (boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction stakeout).
• Operate and maintain modern surveying equipment.
• Coordinate field activities, schedules, equipment, and personnel.
• Process field data for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform deed research and boundary analysis.
• Assist with survey calculations, map prep, plats, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, PMs, and clients.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders.
