Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator II to join our team in McAllen, TX. This role performs boundary, topography, ALTA, and construction surveys, sets up and operates total-station, GPS, data-collector and level, and conducts survey calculations.

The position requires travel, overtime, and outdoor work across all seasons, with a focus on accuracy and safety. Pre-employment screening and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; commensurate relevant experience considered.
• College or technical courses in mathematics and surveying.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients.
• Set-up and operate survey equipment, including total-station, data-collector, level, and GPS.
• Perform survey calculations.
• Perform all aspects of stakeout and locations surveys using applicable survey equipment.
• Maintain survey equipment and keep survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
• Coordinate work of assigned subordinate personnel.
• Assist and train personnel in lower-level positions.
• Make accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment used.
• Daily, work safely and in compliance with all safety regulations.
• Daily care of instruments and vehicle.

Education
