Job summary

Bowman in Austin, TX is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator II to join our team. This role supports boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys, sets up survey equipment, and performs calculations to deliver precise data for clients.

You will work under supervision with opportunities to train junior staff, coordinate field crews, and travel as needed. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with 3+ years of survey experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; commensurate relevant experience considered.
• 3+ years of survey or construction-related experience.
• Prior Instrument Operator experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for clients.
• Set-up and operate survey equipment including total-station, data-collector, level, and GPS.
• Perform survey calculations and stakeout tasks.
• Maintain survey equipment and keep survey truck stocked with supplies.
• Coordinate work of assigned personnel and train junior staff.
• Adhere to safety regulations; outdoor work in varied weather.
