Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Austin, TX is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator I to join our team. The role involves operating survey instruments and conducting surveys across boundary, topography, ALTA, and right-of-way projects for public and private clients.

You will set up and operate equipment (total-station, data collector, level, GPS), perform calculations, stakeout surveys, and maintain gear, with travel and overtime as needed. Supportive, outdoor work environment with safety focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; commensurate experience considered.
• College or technical courses in math and surveying are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate survey equipment including total-station, data collector, level and GPS.
• Perform survey calculations and stakeout / location surveys with applicable equipment.
• Maintain survey equipment and keep survey truck stocked with supplies.
• Make accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment.
