Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator II to join our field team. You will operate survey instruments, perform boundary, topography, ALTA, and construction surveys, and support field supervision with daily crew tasks.

The role requires ability to travel, work outside in all seasons, and maintain equipment. Prior instrument operator experience and clean driving record are preferred; high school diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience also considered.
• College or technical courses in mathematics or surveying preferred.
• 3+ years of survey or construction-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate survey instruments for boundary, topography, ALTA, and construction surveys.
• Set up and operate survey equipment including total-station, data-collector, level, and GPS.
• Perform survey calculations and stakeouts; maintain and calibrate equipment.
• Coordinate work of assigned personnel and assist/train lower-level staff.
• Ensure safety and daily care of instruments and vehicle.
