Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Survey Field Technician I to support field crews across various job sites in Baton Rouge. The role involves loading/unloading equipment, cutting lines, and taking elevations using level rods and prism poles. Significant walking through diverse terrain is required.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred vo-tech training or rod/instrument experience. Willingness to travel daily and occasional overnight travel is essential.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent is preferred.
• Specialized training from a vo-tech school or Rod person/Instrument person experience is a plus.
• Walking outdoors for long periods through various terrains, heat/cold, hills, swamps, wildlife & insects, and high-traffic areas.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate project equipment.
• Ability to travel daily and occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Can work unsupervised when required.
• Background checks and pre-employment drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment from the truck and carry equipment.
• Cut line with brush axe.
• Run level rod to obtain elevations.
• Hold prism pole for horizontal positions.
• Walk long distances across urban, suburban, rural terrains, sometimes through water.
• Travel daily and occasionally overnight as part of projects.
