Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Survey Field Technician I to support field crews on-site. The role involves loading and unloading equipment, setting elevations with level rods, and handling prism poles to establish horizontal positions.

You will walk long distances across varied terrains and may travel overnight as needed. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, can lift 50 pounds, and is willing to train. A valid Commercial Driver's License is a plus, and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry, and operate equipment as needed on the project.
• Ability to travel daily. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Can work unsupervised when required.
• Walking outdoors for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, including urban, suburban, and rural locations, and working under adverse conditions (heat, cold, hills, swamps, wildlife & insects, high traffic areas).
• Experience is welcomed, willing to train.
• Current Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
• Background & motor vehicle checks, and pre-employment drug screening are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment from truck and carry equipment.
• Cut line with brush axe.
• Run level rod to obtain elevations.
• Hold prism pole for horizontal positions.
• Requires a lot of walking for long periods through various terrains, including water.
• Some overnight travel may be required.
