Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Survey Field Technician I to assist with field operations, load and unload gear, and perform elevation measurements at various sites in Louisiana. The role requires fitness to walk long distances over rough terrain and exposure to heat, cold, and water.

You will cut lines, position survey prisms, and support field crews across multiple job sites. Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED; vo-tech training or prior rod/Instrument experience is a plus;

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent preferred; vo-tech or field experience is a plus.
• Must be able to walk long distances outdoors across varied terrain and under adverse conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate equipment as needed.
• Daily travel required; overnight travel may be required.
• Ability to work 50+ hours during peak periods; able to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment from truck and carry to job site.
• Cut line with brush axe.
• Run level rod to obtain elevations.
• Hold prism pole for horizontal positions.
• Walk long distances through terrain, including water and uneven ground.
