NW Construction, Inc. is seeking a Survey Engineer to support heavy civil construction projects in Bozeman, MT. You will perform precise land surveys, develop 3D models, and provide data to guide planning, design and on-site execution.

The role requires strong CAD/GPS proficiency, experience with surveying instruments, and the ability to work on active construction sites across the Western United States. Join a team focused on accuracy, safety, and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent construction-related experience.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment and software including CAD and GPS.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, owners and construction managers to interpret plan sets and provide accurate survey files and 3D models for construction layout.
• Perform topographic and geodetic surveys to produce detailed maps and terrain surfaces.
• Utilize GPS systems, machine control systems, and drones for layout and quantity calculations.
• Prepare and maintain reports of survey data and as-built conditions.
• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, and other terrain characteristics.
• Ensure accuracy of survey data, measurements and calculations.
• Verify data and document all survey phases through notes, sketches, and drawings.
• Adjust and operate surveying instruments such as prisms and EDMs.
• Develop and manage design files, surface models, and machine control data.
• Monitor and document pay quantities and maintain accurate pay logs.
• Conduct drone flights for aerial surveys and data collection.
• Prepare as-built drawings and maintain survey logs for final project state.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Work closely with field personnel to support construction teams.
• Provide suggestions to improve workflow and efficiency.
