NW Construction, Inc. is hiring Project Engineers to join our team. We are a heavy civil contractor based in Bozeman, Montana, with projects across Montana and the western United States.

This role involves cost control analysis, forecasting, pay estimates, change orders, submittals, and coordinating shop drawings. Travel and relocation are required as projects are throughout the Western U.S.; candidates should have an engineering or related degree and be willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management or related field.
• Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Involves cost control system operations and analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting of revenue and costs accruals.
• Prepare monthly pay estimates and process change orders and RFIs.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals and maintain records.
• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure quality conformance with contract documents.
• Assist in developing and updating project schedules.
• Work closely with field personnel to refine workflow and boost efficiency.

Position Description

Summary

NW Construction, Inc. (NWC) is currently hiring Project Engineers to join our Team. NW Construction is a Heavy Civil Construction Contractor based in Bozeman, Montana. NWC specializes in heavy civil construction, taking on projects both large and small. Our work encompasses many areas of the construction industry, including but not limited to: Dams, Hydroelectric, RCC, Concrete, Large and Small Diameter Piping, Sheet Piling, Site Work, Utilities, Slurry Walls, Demolition, Marine, Environmental Work, Drill and Shoot and Aggregate Processing. Project sites are generally located in Montana and the western United States.

Essential Functions

1. High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
2. Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals.
3. Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
4. Process and estimate change orders and Requests for Information as directed by Project Manager.
5. Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
6. Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
7. Process/manage material deliveries ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and in compliance with Contract documents.
8. Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
9. Assist in developing and updating project schedule.
10. Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews).
11. Provide suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements

1. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
2. Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
3. Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
4. Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.
5. Must be willing to travel and relocate. Project sites are located throughout the Western United States, so relocation and/or travel are required.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Previous experience in the heavy civil construction industry
2. OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Certification a plus
3. Current first aid/CPR certification a plus

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
2. Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, climb or crawl.
3. Ability to maintain balance.
4. Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
