Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking a permanent full-time Survey Crew Leader to operate surveying equipment, supervise field crews, and collect data for boundary and topographic surveys.

You will mentor junior staff, maintain field notes, ensure safety, and pursue LSIT/PLS exams; a valid driver's license and 2+ years' leadership experience are preferred. Degrees and LSI certification are nice-to-have.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ relevant experience as Survey Crew Leader; growth in responsibilities preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• “Do what needs to be done” mindset; take ownership to support projects, teams, and customers.
• Strong commitment to safety standards in the field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate survey equipment (Trimble Robotic Total Stations, GPS, laser scanners, TSC5 data collectors).
• Maintain clear, accurate field notes.
• Supervise and mentor field crew; lead a 1–2 person crew.
• Collect data for boundary, topographic, industrial, and construction surveys.
• Conduct quality control by reviewing final maps and ensuring accuracy.
• Pursue professional development to expand knowledge and LSIT/PLS exams.
