Job summary

VIKA South, LLC is on the lookout for an experienced Survey Instrument Operator to join our team in Germantown, Maryland. In this role, you'll perform field operations for various types of surveys and operate equipment to collect data for project analysis.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience in land surveying preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Available to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform field operations for ALTA and topographical surveys.
• Operate instruments for data collection in various surveys.
• Assist processing of field measurements for reports.

VIKA Maryland, LLC is a leading Survey, Civil Engineering, Planning, and Landscape Architecture firm in the DC metro area. We are seeking an experienced Survey Instrument Operator to join our Germantown, Maryland team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects involving all aspects of private- and public-sector developments. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• 2-5 years’ experience in land surveying preferred
• Working knowledge of Leica total stations GPS, and 3D laser scanners
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather, standing and walking for extended hours
• Available to work overtime and reliably on time to work sites
• Basic computer literacy
• Motivated to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Performing field operations for various surveys such as ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, and construction surveys
• Operate instruments and data collections systems (total stations, levels and other measuring devices) to acquire data for various types of surveys
• Assist or perform processing of field measurements and related data for reports and maps
• Maintain survey equipment and supply maintenance for crew vehicles
