Based in Hunt Valley, MD, the position involves fieldwork in varying conditions, use of Trimble equipment, and potential travel. TN-visa allowed for qualified candidates; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of field surveying experience including data collection, traverse adjustments, and GNSS surveys.
• Preferred: FAA 107 drone pilot's license; familiarity with Trimble Access, Microstation, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform control, boundary, and topographic surveys.
• Operate and supervise survey equipment (Trimble, digital levels, robotic total station, GPS, survey vehicles).
• Perform construction stakeout computations for tasks.
• Track job progress and coordinate stakeout services.

JMT's Geomatics/Survey department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.) balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects.

Position Summary: Responsible for the overall completion of the daily survey tasks, crew management, equipment and vehicle maintenance, and communication with office staff and clients. Come join a team with a diverse set of skills and an even more diverse workload.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform control, boundary, and topographic surveys
• Operate and supervise the use of all survey equipment including electronic data collectors (Trimble), digital levels, robotic total station, GPS and survey vehicles.
• Performs construction stakeout computations necessary for the completion of task assignments
• Tracks job progress
• Coordinates information for stakeout services
• Communicates the daily progress of the crew towards the project goals and/or accomplishments with the office staff

Compensation for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse adjustments, and GNSS surveys.

Preferred Experience

• FAA 107 drone pilot's license
• Familiarity with Trimble Access
• Tree identification
• Experience with construction stakeouts
• Familiarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting, including Microstation & AutoCAD
• Familiarity with Subsurface Utility Designation and/or Test Holes
• Experience with LIDAR scanners

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a field environment 95% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
