Job summary

JMT, a 100% employee-owned engineering and surveying firm, is seeking a field assistant for the Geomatics/Survey department. You will support field crew leaders and gain hands-on experience with survey and SUE tasks in diverse environments across the United States.

Hours are typical field hours; travel to sites is required. Immigration sponsorship is not available except TN visa eligibility. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Valid Driver’s License Required.
• Able to pass Background Check.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Ability to travel required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate survey and SUE equipment.
• Assist crew leaders in the performance of daily tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

About Us:

JMT’s Geomatics/Survey department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.), balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects.

Position Summary:

Assist field crew leaders in performing day-to-day field work.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Required Skills

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse establishment, GNSS surveys, and construction stakeouts

Working Conditions

Field work is required 95% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Out of town travel is possible up to 40% of the time. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed.
