SAM, a nationwide leader in geospatial and construction-phase solutions, seeks a competent Crew Chief to supervise field surveys, manage data collection, and ensure safety and quality across boundary, topographic, and construction layouts in Indiana.

You will operate Trimble total stations, GNSS receivers, laser scanners, and data radios, read project plans, and coordinate daily with PMs and engineers. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are required.

Competenze

• 5+ years of surveying experience, with crew-chief exposure preferred.
• Experience as crew chief is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet MVR standards.
• Ability to travel/out-of-town stays as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret survey plans and specifications.

Mansioni

• Supervise a land survey crew for daily field operations (boundary, topographic, construction layout).
• Determine efficient data acquisition plans for field surveys.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and project specs.
• Communicate daily with project managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners.
• Anticipate, prevent, and solve problems within authority.
• Document field notes, sketches, and communications clearly.
• Prepare daily reports and time sheets; maintain field equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
