Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveys, ensuring safety, accuracy, and schedule adherence. You will oversee primary control, construction layout, and as-built surveys using Total Stations and GNSS.

Ideal candidates have prior crew chief experience, strong leadership, and the ability to travel for extended periods; familiarity with Trimble equipment is preferred. Join a nationwide team delivering geospatial and construction-phase solutions.

Qualifications

• Prior crew chief or leadership experience in surveying operations.
• Proven ability to manage field crews and safety compliance.
• Experience with land surveying field methods and construction surveys.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee field surveys including control, layout, and as-built surveys.
• Maintain accurate field records, sketches, and daily reports.
• Coordinate with Project Surveyors and technicians to meet schedules.
• Represent SAM with clients and stakeholders on projects.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, maintained, and compliant.
