Job Description

Accura Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying and CAD design, along with proficiency in survey software and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Process daily field survey data using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to create high-quality survey drawings.
  2. Develop 3D digital terrain models from field data for engineering design using InRoads/OpenRoads or similar software.
  3. Draft and design for various land surveying projects while adhering to CAD standards, including compliance with GDOT requirements.
  4. Collaborate closely with a team of designers and project managers to deliver accurate and efficient results.
  5. Ensure field crews collect the necessary data by maintaining strong communication and coordination.
  6. Prepare and compile detailed information for plans, as-builts, and final plats.
  7. Revise and refine plats and drawings based on feedback and red-line comments from supervisors.
  8. Assist in preparing preliminary layouts, specifications, and documentation for survey projects.
  9. Conduct basic surveys, such as closings, foundations, and elevation certificates.
  10. Occasionally assist in the field to verify drawings against actual conditions and work toward professional certification.
  11. Maintain accuracy by checking calculations, plats, and worksheets to ensure all deliverables meet project standards.
  12. Support office staff, clients, and cross-department teams as required to complete projects successfully.
  13. Develop technical skills while fostering team growth by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5+ years of CAD and survey software experience
  • 5+ years of land surveying experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of field and office surveying experience, with hands-on expertise in AutoCAD
  • Experience with GDOT standards and processes
  • Experience with survey software and equipment is essential
  • At least 1 year of experience using MicroStation software (preferred)
  • Knowledge of technical drafting, with an Associate Degree in Technical Drafting or a related field preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with the Survey Team - Project Managers, Survey Crews, PLS, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other business software
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team
