Job summary

TERRA Engineering, Ltd. is seeking a CAD Technician/Survey Drafter to translate complex sketches into precise drawings and manage project records.

You will apply AutoCAD and Civil3D to produce designs that meet municipal and client standards, while supporting QA/QC practices across varied projects. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in surveying-related drafting, familiarity with topographic surveys, and a willingness to work in a hybrid environment with occasional field involvement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applicable surveying experience.
• SIT certification preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• College credits in surveying technology a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare finished drawings from complex sketches, notes, and verbal instruction.
• Collect, review, and maintain project records and documentation.
• Analyze input material to determine best approach for drawings.
• Use CAD software per company standards and project specs.
• Conduct research of recorded documents and deeds.
• Monitor budgets/hours and report issues to the project manager.
• Assist in training and resolving drawing production issues for junior staff.
