Job summary

Dudek Habitat Restoration is seeking an As-Needed Survey Technician to join the Encinitas, CA-based Survey and Mapping team. The role focuses on applying survey drafting and technical skills to support boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in survey/CAD, strong AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge, and the ability to interpret survey data independently. This hybrid position offers diverse projects across plats, LiDAR topography, and boundary mapping.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years in survey, drafting, or CAD.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey drafting.
• Ability to read title reports, legal descriptions, and survey records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and draft survey deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D including boundary and topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Draft and calculate survey data from field notes, control, and title information.
• Interpret title reports, legal descriptions, easements, and survey records.
• Assist with aerial LiDAR and point cloud-based topographic mapping.
• Support hydrographic surveys and other survey projects as needed.
• Perform survey calculations and data processing using tools like Trimble Business Center.
• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project team members.
