Job summary

Topographic, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician I to perform technically complex land surveying tasks and review survey maps for accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations. You will support field crews by researching records and preparing sketches.

The role involves processing data with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD to create base drawings and exhibits, with QA/QC responsibilities and potential travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
• Experience with technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Perform research of county, city, and other sources of record information for easements and deeds to prepare working sketches for field crews.
• Utilize Trimble Business Center to process field data and produce files for AutoCAD imports.
• Create survey base drawings from field data, sketches, photos, and reference maps.
• Produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, and topographic surveys with AutoCAD.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way and easements.
• Perform QA/QC on work prepared by self and others.
• Other duties as assigned.
