Job summary

Harrah’s Council Bluffs is seeking a Surveillance Associate to monitor gaming operations and uphold state and federal regulations. You will observe activities, report violations, and maintain accurate records across games, slots, cashiers, and soft count rooms.

You will operate surveillance equipment, support court actions when needed, and stay adaptable to assignments at sister properties in the city, while demonstrating integrity and attention to detail in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to write concise, factual reports.
• Proficiency in basic math and computer use is required.
• Willingness to learn various table games and surveillance procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing surveillance duties to ensure company, state and federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained in games, slots, cashiers, and soft count rooms.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports any and all gaming violations and/or thefts for property.
• Operates monitor room equipment, including basic computer functions.
• Participates in court actions relating to gaming violations.
• Learns and uses two card count system.
• Learns all games in use at property and all procedures and cheating indicators of such games.
• Writes proper reports as needed in a timely manner.
• Responds to surveillance supervision and gaming control requests.
• Responds to requests of all other departments when necessary.
• Ensures that all company and departmental procedures are followed.
• Presents oneself as a credit to Company and encourages others to do the same.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
• Maintains the flexibility to work at the sister property in the same city as needed.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Good oral and written communication skills including tact with all levels of Team Members; must be fluent and literate in English as well as ability to read/write concise, factual reports.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical and computer functions.
• Knowledge or ability to learn different table games.
• Ability to observe and identify suspected cheaters and cheating techniques
• Must be able to have 20/20 corrected vision.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.
• Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
• May be called to work on the casino floor and may be subject to varying levels of noise, smoke, and crowds, the severity of which depends on customer volume.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 20 lbs., and ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and stack.
• Must be willing and able to work at a desk for extended periods.
