Job summary

Orion Groups in McKinney, Texas, seeks a SurgiNet Analyst to provide "at-the-elbow" support for a large Cerner SurgiNet go-live at specialty surgery centers. You will be the primary clinician liaison during the transition to the new EHR, ensuring patient care and data integrity.

The 12‑month contract offers partial remote work with up to 50% travel across the U.S. A clinical background (RN/CST) or strong perioperative knowledge is preferred, with Cerner PowerChart experience valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years go-live or at-the-elbow support for Cerner Millennium SurgiNet.
• Clinical background (RN, CST) or deep knowledge of ASC/hospital OR workflows.
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical concepts to clinical users.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside and 1-on-1 support to surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia during go-live.
• Troubleshoot SurgiNet modules (Preference Card Management, intraoperative documentation, case charging).
• Assist with PowerChart and Cerner Anesthesia for data entry and vitals integration.
• Ensure surgical workflows from pre-op to post-op follow site protocols.
• Identify and escalate bugs or gaps to command center for rapid resolution.
• Educate on best practices for electronic documentation.

OVERVIEW

At Orion, we are seeking a SurgiNet Analyst to provide "at-the-elbow" (ATE) support for a large-scale Cerner Millennium SurgiNet implementation at specialized surgery centers. This opportunity serves as the primary point of contact for clinicians and surgical staff during the critical go- live phase, ensuring seamless transition to the new electronic health record (EHR) system while maintaining high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

OPPORTUNITY

12-month contract; Partially Remote with 50% travel (U.S. – Central Time Zone)

SALARY

$90,000 – $120,000 W2 plus benefits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide immediate, 1-on-1 bedside and"at-the-elbow" technical and clinical support to surgeons, nurses,and anesthesia providers during the transition to Cerner SurgiNet.
• Facilitate real-time troubleshooting forSurgiNet modules, including Preference Card Management, intraoperativedocumentation, and case charging.
• Assist clinical staff with navigating PowerChart and Cerner Anesthesia to ensure accurate patient data entry andvitals integration.
• Validate that surgical workflows—frompre-op tracking to post-op discharge—are being followed according toestablished site-specific protocols.
• Identify, document, and escalation system "bugs" or workflow gaps to the command center/technical build teamfor rapid resolution.
• Educate and reinforce best practices forelectronic documentation to ensure clinical compliance and data integrity.

KEY EXPERIENCE

• Deep functionalknowledge of perioperative workflows and the ability to troubleshoot complexsoftware issues in a fast- paced surgical environment.
• Minimum of 2 years ofexperience providing go-live or "at-the-elbow" support for CernerMillennium implementations, specifically within the SurgiNet module.
• Proven clinical background (RN, CST, or similar) or deep technical understanding of ambulatorysurgery center (ASC) or hospital OR workflows.
• Functional expertise inCerner PowerChart, FirstNet, and/or Cerner Anesthesia is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressuresurgical environments.
• Demonstrated ability toexplain complex technical processes to non-technical clinical users.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts (days, nights, or weekends) to support 24/7 surgical operations duringthe go-live window.
• Bachelor’s degreepreferred or equivalent experience considered.
