OVERVIEW
Orion Groups is seeking a Senior M&A Project Manager to lead complex merger, acquisition, and divestiture initiatives within acute care healthcare environments. This opportunity will coordinate clinical, operational, technology, financial, and cross-functional workstreams to support smooth transitions, stakeholder alignment, and successful integration or separation outcomes.
OPPORTUNITY
- Duration: 6-month W2 contract with potential extension
- Location: Fully remote, aligned to U.S. Central Time Zone hours
- Compensation: $175,000 plus health benefits
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead M&A project planning and execution across acute care settings, including hospitals, health systems, clinical departments, and shared services functions.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams involving clinical operations, revenue cycle, finance, human resources, supply chain, compliance, technology, facilities, and executive stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project charters, workplans, schedules, RAID logs, decision trackers, budgets, status reports, and executive-level communications.
- Facilitate project meetings, capture decisions and action items, track deliverables, and ensure accountability across internal teams, vendors, and acquired or divested entities.
- Support planning and execution for transaction close readiness, Day 1 activities, transition service agreements, operational integration, separation planning, and post‑close stabilization.
- Partner with clinical leaders and operational teams to identify dependencies, resolve issues, de‑escalate tension, and maintain continuity of patient care during periods of organizational change.
- Manage scope, requirements, timelines, resources, communications, contingency plans, and risk mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track and manage project deliverables using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and ServiceNow PPM or similar enterprise project tools.
KEY EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of project management experience in healthcare, with direct experience supporting acute care hospitals or health systems.
- Healthcare merger, acquisition, divestiture, integration, or separation experience, including the ability to operate effectively in complex transaction environments.
- Strong understanding of acute care operations, clinical workflows, stakeholder dependencies, and the need to maintain patient‑care continuity during change.
- Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and communicate clearly with executives, clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, vendors, and project teams.
- Experience managing business, operational, technology, and compliance workstreams across large‑scale healthcare initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaboration, de‑escalate tension, resolve ambiguity, and maintain a professional, positive team environment.
- Experience developing project governance, status reporting, risk management, executive presentations, and decision‑support materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project; experience with ServiceNow PPM or similar tools is a plus.
- EHR, clinical systems, revenue cycle, or enterprise application experience with platforms such as Epic or Oracle Health/Cerner is preferred.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
