Job summary
The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York, NY seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Surgery to support anesthesia, recovery, and operative care in a premier teaching hospital. You will assist surgeons, monitor anesthesia, maintain records, and participate in training and research projects.

Qualifications
- Must have a New York State Veterinary Technician license (LVT) or be NYS license eligible.
- Advanced anesthesia skill set and ability to perform procedures in critical/emergent anesthesia.
- Equivalent of 6 months training in the Surgery Department of the Animal Center.
- Strong ability to remain composed and lead during crises and emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia support and nursing care for the Surgery Department.
- Assist with all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge.
- Maintain accurate and concise records of treatment and charges.
- Maintain stock and assist with inventory, cleaning, and ward upkeep.
- Train new employees and volunteers and participate in educational projects.
