Job summary

Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Surgical Unit (MSU) in New York City. You will care for hospitalized patients, administer fluids and medications, monitor vitals, and communicate changes in patient status to the team.

Qualifications

• Must have NY license/permit to practice.
• Ability to lift and restrain animals up to 50 pounds.
• Strong teamwork and communication in a busy hospital.
• Calm under pressure in emergencies and fast-paced shifts.
• Flexibility to cover shifts in a 24/7 hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional and compassionate care to hospitalized patients.
• Perform treatments including fluid and drug administration, wound care, and vitals monitoring.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status promptly.
• Operate syringe pumps, fluid pumps, dopplers, BP monitors, point-of-care lab equipment, and SP02 monitors.
• Maintain and stock inventory and assist with equipment.
