Job summary

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operative team. You will assist surgeons, sterilize instruments, and maintain a sterile environment across OR and related areas.

The role requires CST certification or equivalent and 1–3 years of surgical experience. On-call rotations apply; a sign-on bonus may be offered and a supportive multidisciplinary team awaits.

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• CST certification required or to be obtained upon hire.
• TS-C certification acceptable upon hire.
• 1–3 years of surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons within scope of competency and standards.
• Wash and sterilize instruments and maintain sterile field.
• Rotate in SPD area cleaning and sterilizing instruments for OR, ER, clinics.
• Update preference cards to reflect surgeon requests.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, surgeon, and consent.
• Ensure aseptic technique throughout intraoperative period.
• Maintain equipment and assist in evaluating new supplies.
