Job summary

BayCare is seeking Surgical Technologists to join a team supporting perioperative care across our Tampa Bay area hospitals. This role provides technical support under RN supervision and participates in sterile technique, instrumentation, and equipment setup.

The Staffing Resource Office offers 13–26-week assignments with placement based on system needs and a seasonal pool from November to February for the winter season.

Qualifications

• 1 year of surgical technology experience in hospital with NBSTSA certification; or 5 years' experience if not certified.
• High School or Equivalent
• Technical Diploma or Associate in Surgical Technology
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in the perioperative period under RN direction.
• Assist in sterile technique and equipment setup.
• Support across assigned hospital locations based on needs.
• Work hours and on-call requirements as defined by assignments.

Summary:
The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

The Staffing Resource Office (SRO) offers 13–26-week assignments where you are assigned to one hospital in our system. Assignment placement is based on needs of the system.

Seasonal Pool 13-week assignments offered November-February for busy winter season. Applicant must reside outside of our local market to be eligible for seasonal rate.

High School or Equivalent and completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program and 1-year surgical technician experience OR High School or Equivalent and completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
