Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assistant for the Main OR. This role involves assisting the surgeon during operations to provide exposure, maintain homeostasis, and perform other technical tasks as required.

Staffing Resource Office (SRO) handles 13–26 week assignments at one hospital within the BayCare network, with placement based on system needs. Occasional weekend work and on-call responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2 years Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operations by providing exposure and maintaining homeostasis.
• Assignment placements are 13–26 weeks across BayCare hospitals based on system needs.

Position Description: Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR

• As defined by the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Assistants (SAs) are trained individuals who are able to participate in, and actively assist the surgeon in, completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain homeostasis, and other technical functions

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2-years Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR experience.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SEASONAL REQUIRES RESIDING OUTSIDE OF OUR LOCAL MARKET.
