Job summary

• The Surgical Technologist Department Pool is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of an RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

Position Details:

Location: St Josephs South

Status: Pool, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: variable

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program
• CST (Surgical Tech) certification
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Specific Skills:

• Must have knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up as well as laser equipment use and maintenance.
