Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required or active.
• Solid knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic techniques and surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving.
• Prepare sterile field and set up surgical instrument tables.
• Anticipate surgeon needs for instruments, sutures, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Uphold aseptic technique and correct any breaches in sterility.
• Assist with specimen handling and disposition per policy.
• Inspect instruments and trays for sterility and functionality.
• Label and verify solutions and medications with RN staff.
• Participate in Universal Protocol and fire risk assessments.
• Report equipment issues and ensure safe handling throughout the sterile field.
• Assist with OR cleanup and maintain professional team relations.
• Maintain ongoing professional knowledge and certification as required.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to promote safe outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
