Job summary

Atlantic Health in Morristown, NJ is seeking an experienced Scrub Tech to support surgical teams in the operating room. You will assist with instrument counts, sterile technique, and patient transfers, under the direction of a registered nurse.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of hospital scrub tech experience, completes an accredited surgical technologist program, and holds BLS certification. Join a leading nonprofit health system serving multiple NJ facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a hospital setting.
• BLS certification (or within 6 months after hire).

Responsibilities

• Checks and gathers all instruments for each case with surgeon's preference card.
• Opens sterile supplies, maintains a sterile field, and corrects breaks in technique.
• Performs surgical scrub techniques and gown and glove procedures.
• Arranges instruments, basins, sutures, and supplies for accurate count after procedures.
• Assists circulating nurses with counts of sponges, needles, and other devices.
• Passes instruments to the surgical team safely and efficiently.
• Assists in transferring patients to the recovery room and restocking the operating room.
