Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check and gather instruments for each case with the surgeon's preference card.
• Verify sterility tapes, dates, and wrapper integrity.
• Open sterile supplies, maintain sterile field, and correct breaks in technique.
• Perform surgical scrub techniques and gown/glove procedures.
• Arrange instruments and supplies for accurate counts after procedures.
• Assist circulating nurses with counts of sponges, needles, and devices.
• Pass instruments safely to the surgical team.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
