Job summary

HUMBLE VASCULAR SURGICAL CENTER INC. in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub in for operations under RN supervision, maintain the sterile field and handle instruments with aseptic technique.

The role demands attention to safety, teamwork, and HIPAA compliance, with 1–2 years of OR experience and CST preferred. BLS training will be provided or completed within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of approved surgical technician program.
• CST certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years experience in the Operating Room.
• Ability to achieve Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of hire.
• Able to relate and work effectively with others.
• Clear verbal and written English communications for patient care and documentation.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional advancement.
• Aware of surgical technician standards and perform accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions for operations.
• Tends to patients during pre-operation procedures per hospital rules.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensures proper function.
• Assist with positioning patients on the operating table under sterile conditions.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments; assists with specimen handling.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment.
• Transfers patients to recovery and restocks the operating room after procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
