Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room under supervision of the OR Manager and RNs. You will maintain sterile technique, prepare equipment, and pass instruments to surgeons.

This role requires a high school diploma, completion of an approved surgical technician program, and CST certification preferred; 1-2 years OR experience and ability to obtain BLS within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of approved surgical technician program.
• CST certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in the Operating Room.
• Ability to achieve Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
• Demonstrated English communications for safe patient care and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
• Tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
• Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensure proper function.
• Pass instruments to surgeons and assistants.
• Assist with dressings and specimen handling.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment.
• Assist in transferring patients to recovery and restocking OR.
