Job summary

Coast Surgery Center, operated by United Surgical Partners International (USPI) in California, seeks a Surgical Scrub Technologist to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a sterile field during procedures in the operating room.

The role reports to the Clinical Director/Administrator and requires high school diploma/ scrub program completion with 2 years of scrub tech experience. Proficiency in patient safety, HIPAA, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus completion of a Scrub Technician Program; certification preferred.
• Two years of experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology as it relates to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during setup.
• Assist circulating nurse and surgical team to maintain sterile environment.
• Assist in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts pre- and intra-operatively.
• Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
• Maintain accurate/updated physician preference cards.
