Job summary

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA, is seeking an Experienced Certified Surgical Technologist for a 20-hour-per-week day shift. The ST will assist the circulator, pass instruments at the sterile field, maintain sterile technique, support quality initiatives, and may be assigned on-call nights, weekends and holidays.

A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for a limited time. Qualification requires a CAAHEP-accredited program graduate; certification preferred with within-month

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification preferred; new hires must obtain certification within one month of hire.
• Experience: greater than one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up for procedures with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon at the sterile field.
• Anticipate team needs and provide instruments and supplies.
• Care, cleaning and maintenance of instruments and equipment per guidelines.
• Count sponges, sharps and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Apply aseptic principles to maintain sterile field.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Take on-call assignments as needed.
