Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Formal OR tech education or nursing background as specified.
• Must become a CST within 6 months of hire and be registered with the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff by communicating changes in patient status and preparing OR rooms with necessary equipment.
• Drape patients and assist the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Maintain and prepare equipment, supplies, and sterile fields per aseptic technique.
• Support turnover of OR rooms between cases and update physician preference cards as needed.
• Contribute to infection control, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
