Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will prepare OR rooms, pass instruments, and assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.

Responsibilities include collaborating with care teams on patient plans, maintaining equipment, and participating in infection control and quality improvement efforts. Overtime and weekend hours may be required as part of a busy perioperative unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR certification is required at hire.
• Graduate of an approved OR Technology, Surgical Scrub Tech, or Surgical Technology program.
• 1 year of cardiac operating room experience is required.
• Must become a Certified Surgical Technologist within 6 months of hire.
• Registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine as Surgical Technologist is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the care team to support the patient plan of care based on physician preferences and assessments.
• Communicate safe therapeutic care for patients throughout the perioperative experience.
• Prepare OR rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; maintain aseptic technique.
