Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in operative procedures under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. This role involves preparing and maintaining instruments, setting up the operating room, and ensuring sterile technique.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program with CPR certification and 0–2 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or related technical program.
• Must be CPR certified with 0–2 years of clinical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Before an operation, helps set up the operating room by preparing instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
• Tends to the patient during pre-operation procedures and ensures sterile technique.
• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensures proper functioning.
• Gets patients ready for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
• Transports patients to the operating room and assists with positioning and draping.
• Observes vital signs, checks charts, and assists with gowns and gloves.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants; helps count sponges and needles.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and related diagnostic equipment.
• After operation, assists with transfers to recovery and restocks the OR.
