Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking an organized surgical technologist to join our operating room team.

You will assist surgeons, nurses, and assistants by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting patient care before, during, and after procedures. Responsibilities include setting up the OR, passing instruments, assisting with patient positioning, monitoring vitals, and helping with specimen handling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred not required.
• Must be certified to perform CPR with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions in the operating room.
• Tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
• Prepare patient skin, body, and medical equipment for operation.
• Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensure proper functioning.
• Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
• Transport and position patients on the operating table and cover with sterile drapes.
• Observe vital signs and assist with sterile gowning and gloving.
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and assistants.
• Count sponges, needles, and supplies; collect specimens for analysis and assist with dressings.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction, and diagnostic equipment.
• After operation, transfer patients to recovery and restock the OR.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
