Job summary

The Staff Pad is partnering with a healthcare organization in Russellville, AL to hire a Surgical Technologist for the Surgery Department. You will assist surgeons before, during, and after procedures and help maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment.

Position is full-time with day shifts and on-call requirements. The role emphasizes teamwork, quick thinking in a fast-paced setting, and strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
• Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts with the circulating nurse.
• Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures.
• Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and report any issues.
• Handle and label surgical specimens according to established protocols.
