Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will perform scrub duties across age groups, prepare sterile setups, assist during procedures, and help maintain instrument counts and specimen handling under RN direction.

Role emphasizes aseptic technique, continuous education (15 hours/year), and collaboration with staff to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• No previous experience required.
• Must maintain 15 hours of mandatory ST education annually.
• Surgical Technologist Certification with NBSTSA or eligible NCCT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during operative procedures and maintain instrument counts.
• Prepare for procedures by gathering supplies and setting up the sterile field.
• Maintain aseptic technique and safety standards throughout procedures.
• Coach and mentor teammates and assist with integration of new staff.
• Complete annual age-specific accountabilities and perform other duties as assigned.
