Job summary

UMC Health System in Texas seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to organize, direct, and perform instrumentation, sterilization, and supply tasks for the operating room.

You will prepare ORs for surgeries, assist surgeons, inventory instruments, recount supplies after procedures, and sterilize equipment while maintaining strict clinical standards and effective communication with the surgical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• 1 year of heart training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for incoming surgeries.
• Assist surgeon in the operating room.
• Inventory surgical instrumentation and supplies prior to an operation.
• Recount surgical instruments and supplies at the end of an operation.
• Sterilize equipment and stock up on necessary supplies.
• All other assigned duties related to attending the operating room.
