Job summary

Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital—Dallas is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the Surgery unit on FT days (7a–7p, 3/12's). Under RN supervision, you will assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and ensuring equipment readiness.

Ideal candidates have completed an accredited surgical technology program and hold CST certification, with knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Current CST certification (NBSTSA/NCCT) or equivalent.
• Completed a recognized surgical technology training program in the U.S. military or Public Health Service, or prior practice before 9/1/2009.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operative site by aseptically cleaning and clipping the patient as needed.
• Scrub into surgery and prepare instruments before the surgeon scrubs in.
• Maintain the instrument table in an organized way and ensure correct counts.
• Set up the operating room based on the procedure schedules and organize supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and passing sterile supplies to the team.
