Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled surgical technologist to assist in operating room operations, setup, and patient preparation for surgery. You will work as part of the Patient Care Team, ensuring sterile processing standards and efficient intraoperative workflow.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, NBSTSA credentials preferred, and 2-3 years of acute care surgical tech experience. Onsite role with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
• CSFA (NBSTSA) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting preferred
• CST - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting preferred
• Medical Technician (New Hampshire License) preferred
• Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting: 2-3 years required
• Four (4) years experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting; committee and leadership experience 3-5 years preferred
• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in time-out procedures.
• Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

CSFA (NBSTSA) preferred

CST (NBSTSA) preferred

Medical Technician (NH License) preferred

Experience as a surgical technologist in acute care (2-3 years)

Four years experience as a surgical technologist in acute care; leadership preferred
