Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. You will prepare the OR, gather sterile supplies, and ensure all instruments are ready and functioning for procedures.

Responsibilities include helping with surgical counts, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting in turnover and equipment processing to maintain efficiency and safety in the OR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology required.
• CST certification and BLS required.
• Experience in an OR setting preferred; familiarity with sterile technique and instrument processing.

Responsibilities

• Review upcoming OR schedule to anticipate instrumentation/equipment needs.
• Set up equipment and instrumentation for procedures.
• Perform surgical counts and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Prepare sterile field and maintain aseptic technique.
• Inventory, decontaminate, and reassemble OR instruments and endoscopy equipment.
• Assist in room turnover and instrument processing as needed.
