Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program required.
• CST certification and BLS certification required.
• 1–5 years of surgical tech experience preferred.
• Experience with aseptic technique and OR equipment management.

Responsibilities

• Review upcoming OR schedule to anticipate instrument/equipment needs.
• Set up equipment and instrumentation for procedures.
• Perform surgical counts according to policy.
• Organize case carts for upcoming procedures.
• Process instruments and equipment for the operating room.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique.
• Assist in room turnover between cases.
• Assist circulator with sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Prepare and cut suture material.
• Transfer supplies and instruments within the sterile field.
• Handle specimen and equipment transfers as needed.
