Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• First Assistant or CSFA certification is preferred.
• BLS is required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon as first assist during operative procedures, including retraction and suturing.
• Prepare the operating room with instruments and supplies according to procedure needs.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout all phases of the surgery.
• Gown, glove, and pass instruments to the surgical team.
• Position, prep, and drape patients to ensure safety and access.
• Count instruments, sponges, and sharps; resolve discrepancies per protocol.
