Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the first shift in Topeka, KS. The role supports sterile field management before, during, and after surgeries across multiple service lines, including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, robotics, and more.

Education: Associate's Degree or Surgical Technologist Program graduate; 6 months experience acceptable in lieu of education. CST NBSTSA certification preferred. Exemption status: Non-Exempt.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program or an Associate's degree.
• 6 months surgical technologist experience acceptable in lieu of education.
• certification preferred: CST or NBSTSA.

Responsibilities

• Check supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
• Anticipate problem areas and adjust instrumentation.
• Maintain sterile technique and report any compromise.
• Set up sterile table with instruments and supplies prior to patient entry.
• Hand instruments to surgeon and assist as directed during operation.
• Assist with wound closure per CFA duties and related tasks.
• Restock room and participate in clinical education activities.
• Comply with Stormont Vail Health policies and procedures.
