Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is offering a Surgical Technology Apprenticeship in Topeka, KS. This year-long paid program combines classroom training, simulation, and hands-on clinical experience to prepare you for the Surgical Technologist role.

You will learn sterile technique, assist in the OR, and work under Educators and experienced staff. This entry-level program starts Day 1 with employment and aims to transition graduates to department preceptorship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required for eligibility.
• An Anatomy & Physiology course completed within the last five years is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical scrubs, gowning, and gloving under supervision.
• Sets up sterile tables with instruments and supplies prior to patient entry.
• Assists with draping sterile fields and passes instruments to the surgeon.
• Performs counts with RN Circulator and ensures sterile technique throughout.
